Ebony Bailey, Seton Academy

5-5, Jr., Guard

2011-12 Stats: 17.4 ppg, 4/5 rpg

Notable: Led the Sting to the GCAC White title and to the Class 1A DeKalb Supersectional. She was named to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association's Class 1A/2A honorable mention all-state team.

Ninah Bertrand, T.F. South

5-4, Jr., Guard

2011-12 Stats: 6.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.1 spg, 1.8 apg

Notable: Despite her size, Betrand crashes the boards and is the Rebels' top defensive player. She was an all-South suburban Blue pick and her guard play will be critical to the Rebels' success this year.

Tyler Brown-Henderson, St. Francis de Sales

5-10, Sr., Guard/Forward

2011-12 Stats: 15.6 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 4.3 apg, 2.1 spg

Notable: She was named to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association's Class 1A/2A honorable mention all-state team as well as a GCAC White first-team pick. Henderson will be a big part of St. Francis' success this year.

Bria Gaines, Bloom Twp.

6-2, Sr., F

2011-12 Stats: 27.3 ppg, 16.3 rpg, 4.0 bpg

Notable: The Times 2011-12 Player of the Year is a Western Kentucky recruit. She had a double-double in all but one game last year. Gaines will be the most dominating player in the south suburbs this year.

Desiree Jackson, Seton Academy

5-10, So., Center

2011-12 Stats: 10.0 ppg, 12.2 rpg, 3.2 bpg

Notable: She was able to dominate in the paint against more experienced post players. Jackson will definitely be one of the reasons Seton will continue its success.

Sydni Johnson

5-11, Sr., Guard

2011-12 Stats: 7.5 ppg, 4.7 rpg

Notable: The Howard University recruit has good ball-handling skills, but has size and can crash the boards. She plays both ends of the floor well.

Ashton Millender, Marian Catholic

5-10, Jr. Guard

2011-12 Stats: 12.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.1 spg

Notable: Millender had some big games as a sophomore and will be a big part of Marian's guard play this season.

Arielle Miree, Thornwood

5-4, Sr., G

2011-12 Stats: 12.2 ppg, 3.8 apg, 2.4 spg

Notable: Miree ran the show for the Thunderbirds and was an all-SouthWest Suburban Red pick. She is expected to be a floor and team leader for coach Danielle Jania.

Teniya Page, Marian Catholic

5-7. So., G

2011-12 Stats: 7.9 ppg, 3.3 apg, 1.5 spg

Notable: She became a floor leader as a freshman as she was the first point guard at Marian to start as a freshman since Kaila Turner (now at Notre Dame). With a year of experience under her belt, Page should be able to run the show.

Lauren Parker, Homewood-Flossmoor

5-8, Sr. Guard

2011-12 stats: 7.1 ppg

Notable: The Northern Iowa recruit was one of the reasons for the Vikings success last season. She is expected to be a floor leader for coach Dana Noble and should be able to take over a game when needed.

Kat Strong, Bloom Twp.

6-0, So., Guard/Forward

Stats: 11.5 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 8.2 apg

Notable: Strong showed poise and leadership despite being a freshman. She had several triple doubles, thus showing she can play inside or outside as she was forced to play the point out of necessity. Strong will move inside this year and should be a dominating player the next three years.

Megan Walsh, Marian Catholic

6-0, Sr., Center

Stats: 10.7 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 2.2 bpg, 1.2 spg

Notable: Walsh showed maturity as she is a two-year starter. She many times controlled the game with her rebounding and helping a very youthful Spartans team to a regional win. She will be one of the south suburbs' best post players the next two years.
