Jazmin Aldape, Sr., MF
Stats: 13 goals, 22 assists
Scouting report: The Times Player of the Year's goal statistics may not be eye-popping, but her 22 assists show just what she meant to the Blazing Trojans in 2014. Bloom Township's 10-0 record in the Southland Athletic Conference and three straight SAC titles are a testament to Aldape's unselfish play and ability to be the team leader for the Blazing Trojans. Aldape will attend St. Xavier next season where she will play soccer.
Annie Brucer, Sr., D
Scouting report: Brucer has been a wall in the back of the Vikings defense for four consecutive years. Illiana Christian finished second in the Metro Suburban Conference in 2014 and posted a 11-5-2 record on the year to go along with six shutouts. The defense has always been a strong suit for the Vikings and Brucer has been the glue that holds together the Vikings' D. Vikings coach AJ Turkstra will have to look far and wide to find a better replacement at sweeper.
Sammi Farkos, Sr., MF/D
Stats: 5 goals, 15 assists
Scouting report: Like The Times Player of the Year Jazmin Aldape, Farkos moved to where the Vikings needed the most help and that was on defense. Farkos played much of the 2014 campaign from the stopper position, and her goal total would have been much higher had she remained up front, but Farkos helped to solidify a Homewood-Flossmoor defense when they needed it. The Vikings may have finished 7-14-1 in 2014, but Farkos and company were a lot better team than their record indicated.
Hannah Giroux, Jr., MF
Stats: 9 goals, 8 assists
Scouting report: Giroux was voted the team MVP for the second consecutive year at Beecher, and her nine goals were tied for second on the team in 2014. Her eight assists led the team, and she will be looked at to provide a big share of the offense next spring. The Ladycats may have trouble scoring at times, but Giroux is a dangerous scoring threat that should see her goal total raised significantly in 2015.
Andreina Hernandez, Jr., MF
Stats: 24 goals, 17 assists
Scouting report: Hernandez was a big part of the Blazing Trojans offense in 2014 and helped Bloom Township to a 16-2 record on the year. Hernandez has played alongside Times POY Jazmin Aldape for three straight seasons, and it's safe to say, she's learning from one of the best midfielders in Aldape. Hernandez is the perfect complement to sophomore forward Jasmin Villanueva, and the two should still provide plenty of offense for the Blazing Trojans next year.
Jennifer Lopez, So., MF
Stats: 15 goals, 19 assists
Scouting report: Lopez is only a sophomore, but her ability to score and facilitate goals for others are a big key to the the Patriots' success. The Patriots are a young team and Lopez should see a steady increase in goals scored over the coming years. Washington finished with a 11-4-1 record in 2014, and the future is bright on the East Side.
Hailey Losselyong, Sr., F
Stats: 10 goals, 1 assist
Scouting report: Losselyong was the heart and soul of the Spartans this season, and Marian Catholic will have a tough time replacing the senior next season. Losselyong started four years for the Spartans, and though she missed some time this season due to injury, was still able to record 10 goals on the year.
Adriana Mendoza, Jr., D
Stats: 11 assists
Scouting report: Mendoza has been a three-year captain for Washington and has helped to solidify the defense of the Patriots. Washington coach Rafael Ramirez has nothing but high praise for the junior who has played just about anywhere the Patriots have needed her in her career. Defense was where the Patriots needed Mendoza in 2014, and the junior helped Washington average only one goal against this season.
Monica Munoz, Jr., MF
Stats: 33 goals, 3 assists
Scouting report: Munoz was a danger to opponents any time she touched the ball in 2014. The United finished 9-9 this season and were 5-6 in South Suburban Conference play, but Munoz still managed 33 goals this year. At times, Munoz can take over a game and dominate. If the United can find a couple pieces to put around Munoz, Thornton Fractional might be able to take a major step forward next spring.
Maria Narcisi, Sr., G
Stats: 11 goals against, 0.64 GAA, 13 shutouts
Scouting report: Narcisi had just 11 goals scored against her and blanked 13 opponents. She had 12 shutouts in a row.
Emma Pawlowski, Sr., MF
Stats: 12 goals, 10 assists
Scouting report: Pawlowski had a breakthrough year for the Vikings this spring, and seven of her 12 goals came off of set pieces. Pawlowski may have had even more offense had she been a forward, but even from the midfield, the senior was the top scoring threat for Illiana Christian. Like Brucer, Pawlowski is a four-year starter for the Vikings, and she will be tough to replace next spring.
Adrianna Vera, So., F
Stats: 37 goals, 5 assists
Scouting report: The Warriors may have had a down year, finishing 9-9 in 2014, but Vera continued to showcase her ability to score goals for Crete-Monee. Her 37 goals were the most among area players. After 25 goals her freshman season, Vera scored 37 in 2014 and should keep adding to her career total in the next two seasons. With the help of Vera, the Warriors should be able to once again compete with Bloom for a Southland Athletic title next season.
