Nicole Vega, Fr., F
Stats: 55 goals, 5 assists
Scouting report: That's not a typo. Vega scored 55 goals in her first year of prep soccer, and her goal total probably could have been closer to 70 if not for limited second-half playing time. She helped her team to 14-5 record overall and a 8-3 record in the South Suburban Blue.
Hailey Losselyong, Jr., F
Stats: 19 goals, 3 assists
Scouting report: Losselyong was the team MVP in 2013 and was an all-conference selection in the East Suburban Catholic Conference. Losselyong was also a big factor in the Spartans' 2013 playoff push to the Class 2A Lincoln-Way West Sectional championship. Her hat trick against Lincoln-Way West in the Rich East Regional championship helped advance the Spartans. Losselyong is primed for a big offensive yea in 2014.
Adrianna Vera, Fr., F
Stats: 25 goals, 6 assists
Scouting report: The leading scorer for the Warriors, Vera is another freshman who made a big impact with her team. She helped lead the Warriors to a share of the Southland Athletic Conference title with a 7-1 SAC record. Vera's two late goals against rival Bloom in a 4-3 win May 7 proved she can be a big player in big games.
Monica Munoz, So., MF
Stats: 20 goals, 18 assists
Scouting report: Munoz was a Times all-area selection her freshman season and returns to the team again. Munoz was able to set the table for teammate Nicole Vega, and her 20 goals prove she can be a second scoring threat when T.F. needs her. Munoz may be the best all-around player in the area, and is a force in the middle of the field. Her ability to get the ball to her forwards for scoring chances makes her a dream midfielder for any soccer program.
Jazmin Aldape, Jr., MF
Stats: 12 goals, 16 assists
Scouting report: Aldape was a Southland Athletic Conference pick and is the heart and soul of Bloom Township. Aldape's balanced stat sheet shows she can score when needed, but she is also the main facilitator for the Blazing Trojans. Bloom finished with an overall record of 12-5 and a 7-1 record and share of the conference crown in the SAC, and Aldape led the way. She was also an all-sectional selection in 2013.
Liliana Briseno, Fr., F
Stats: 14 goals
Scouting report: Briseno helped lead the Patriots to a 10-4-2 record, including 7-2-1 in Chicago Public League play, providing the bulk of the Washington offense as a freshman. The Patriots are a young team and always in contention in the CPL, and Briseno could become the center of their attack.
Andi Hernandez, So., MF
Stats: 16 goals, 15 assists
Scouting report: Along with Aldape, Hernandez was an all-Southland Athletic Conference selection. She showed she can provide good balance in the Blazing Trojan midfield. With her 16 goals, Hernandez also provided a nice boost to the Bloom offense. If she can continue her rate of progress, Hernandez may develop into one of the best players in the area over the next two seasons.
Chrissy Coderre, Sr., D
Stats: 8 goals, 6 assists
Scouting report: Coderre was a jack of all trades for the Vikings. When needed, she could move from her sweeper position and become more of a forward scoring threat. Her eight goals led the team, showing some of the scoring trouble the Vikings faced. Coderre was an all-SouthWest Suburban Blue Conference selection and a four-year varsity starter. She will play next year for Illinois Wesleyan.
Christina Franzese, Sr., D
Stats: 2 goals, 2 assists
Scouting report: Franzese was as important to the Spartan defense as Losselyong was to the Marian Catholic offense. Franzese's two goals came at an opportune time against Crete-Monee in the regional semifinals, lifting the Spartans to a 3-0 win. Franzese was at the center of an M.C. defense that held a good Lincoln-Way West and Tinley Park offenses in check during the Spartans' playoff run.
Kim Boehm, Sr., GK
Stats: 0.95 goals against average, 11 shutouts
Scouting report: Boehm was a brick wall for the Vikings. The senior captain was an all-Southwest Suburban Blue Conference selection. She finished her career with 45 shutouts. Boehm has continued to grow as a keeper and has developed into one of the top goaltenders in the entire state. Her save percentage of 91 helped boost Homewood-Flossmoor to a 12-7-1 record.
Amanda Baron, Sr., MF
Stats: 12 goals, 11 assists
Scouting report: Baron has had a quiet but solid career for the Warriors, and while her numbers may not be eye-popping, she has been the heart of the Warriors' team for the past two seasons. Baron finishes her career with 34 goals and has always been able and willing to play where the Warriors have needed her. Baron helped propel the Warriors to a share of the Southland Athletic Conference title with a 7-1 record.
Annie Brucer, Jr., D
Stats: 1 assist
Scouting report: Brucer and the Vikings may have had some growing pains, but there is plenty to build on for Illiana Christian. Brucer was its best defender on a unit that posted six shutouts this season and included a freshman goal keeper. Brucer was also an all-conference selection in the Metro Suburban Conference.
