Buchmeier was named All-River Valley Conference. The all-around player had 159 kills, 11 blocks, 43 aces and 234 digs.
Amber Clay, Marian Catholic
Jr., Outside hitter
The 2011 Times Player of the Year was even better this year and again was named Times Player of the Year. She led the Spartans in kills and aces and her all-around game improved leaps and bounds. She holds the school record for aces and kills in a season, kills in a game, career aces and career kills. And, she still has another season to play. She had 450 kills, 67 aces, 381 digs and 81 blocks.
Rachel Herrera, Illiana Christian
So., Libero
Herrera is the Vikings' vocal leader and her defensive prowess in the back row is a big reason for Illiana's success. She always came to the service line when the Vikings needed a lift. She had 235 digs and 21 aces.
Skylar Hildebrand, Homewood-Flossmoor
Jr., Libero
Hildebrand is a two-year starter who is an amazing defensive specialist. She made the all-tournament team at the Moline Invite. She had 327 digs and 26 aces.
Justice Howard, Bloom Twp.
Sr., Outside hitter
She led Bloom Twp. from the front row and from the service line. The senior had 415 kills and 65 aces.
Katie Howard, Beecher
Sr., Libero
Howard was named River Valley Conference Player of the Year. Howard was all over the floor, making it difficult for opponents to find an open spot to hit. She had 426 digs and 45 aces.
Ashtyn Kapovich, T.F. South
Jr., Libero
Kapovich is one of the best liberos in the area and deadly from the service line. She also had a strong attack from the back row. She had 33 aces, 267 digs and 51 kills. She was 291 of 304 in serve receive.
Crystal Lee, T.F. South
So., Outside hitter
Lee is an up-and-coming outside hitter who can jump out of a gym and put the ball down hard. She also blocks well. She had 230 kills, 81 blocks and 18 aces on the season.
Devin Luster, T.F. North
Sr., Outside hitter
Devin is a first-team all-conference player and made the all-tournament team at the De La Salle tournament. The three-year varsity starter has played a different position each year on varsity. She led the team in aces (29), kills (136) attack attempts (435), digs (158) and passes (262).
Amber Malkowski, St. Francis de Sales
Sr., Outside hitter
Malkowski is an All-GCAC White outside hitter and team captain. She helped the Pioneers to one of their better seasons and to the finals of the Class 2A St. Francis de Sales Regional.
Tina Massey, Illiana Christian
Sr., Outside hitter
Massey played a huge role in Illiana's offense and was solid on defense in the back row. The Vikings could always count on her for a big kill to spark the offense. She had 215 kills, 161 digs, 46 blocks and 18 aces.
Carley Seehausen, Illinois Lutheran
Jr., Setter/outside hitter
She did it all for the Chargers, playing outside, right side, middle and setter. The all-conference player is one of the area's top setters. She had 134 assists, 75 kills, 131 digs, 180 service points and 21 aces.
Paige Seehausen, Illinois Lutheran
Jr., Outside hitter
The team captain and all-conference player came on strong at the end of the season and will be one of the area's top hitters next season. She had 153 kills, 140 digs, 196 service points and 19 aces.
Kaitlyn Shereyk, Homewood-Flossmoor
Sr., Outside hitter
The four-year starter and team captain is a two-time all-conference selection. She was the Moline tournament MVP and made the all-tournament teams at Lincoln Way Central and Champaign Centennial. Kaitlyn has been a vital part of the program for the past four years. She had 324 kills and 232 digs.
Melva Smith, Thornwood
Sr., Outside hitter
Smith is a four-year varsity player who led the Thunderbirds with 299 kills with only 45 errors on 585 hitting attempts. She also had 41 solo blocks, 31 aces, 119 service points and 131 digs.
Kendyl Todd, Marian Catholic
Jr., Middle hitter
Todd led the Spartans in blocks and hitting percentage. She was the go-to hitter after Clay and was one of the Spartans' best servers. She was second in kills and holds school records for career blocks and blocks in a game. She had 215 kills, 49 aces and 132 blocks.
