Nick Tanniehill struck out eight and threw a five-inning no-hitter as the Seton Academy baseball team beat Perspectives Calumet 10-0 on Tuesday.

He threw first-pitch strikes to 12 of the 19 hitters he faced.

Tanniehill was 3-or-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. The Sting jumped out to a 4-0 lead. William Tomas and Kameron Lindsay had two hits each.

Bloom Twp. 7, Rich East 6: Frankie Herzic singled in Josiah Dailey in the sixth inning and it proved to be the winning run as the Blazing Trojans (1-2, 1-0) won the Southland Athletic Conference game.

Nick Carlson pitched the final three scoreless innings as Bloom (1-2, 1-0) picked up its first win. Josh Hojnicki was 2-for-4 with three runs scored.

Illinois Lutheran 16, St. Anne 0 (4 inn.): Jared Buzan struck out 13 as the Chargers (4-0, 2-0) rolled in River Valley Conference play.

Buzan and Jake Kendrick had two hits and two RBIs each. Danny Griffin had three RBIs.

Crete-Monee 11, Kankakee 1 (5 inn.): Kyle Bumpass was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and also was the winning pitcher as the Warriors (2-2, 1-0) beat the Kays in a Southland Athletic Conference game.

Bumpass struck out seven, gave up three hits and did not allow an earned run.

Donte Richie also had three hits with three RBIs.

Eisenhower 11, T.F. North 1 (6 inn.): The Meteors (3-2, 0-1 South Suburban Blue) had just two hits in their loss to the Cardinals.

Lemont 10, T.F. South 0 (5 inn.): The Rebels (3-3, 0-1) were no-hit in the South Suburban Blue loss to the Indians.

Girls Soccer

Beecher 4, Bremen 1: Lyndsay Wachowski's hat trick and Sydney Schubert's six saves led the Ladycats (2-0-1) past the Braves.

Mia Mondello added a goal, and Taylor LeBlanc, Jordan Miner and Bobbi Stanula had an assist each.

Bloom Township 1, Evergreen Park 0: Andi Hernandez's goal gave the Blazing Trojans (3-3) the win.

Maria Narcisi had three saves.

Crete-Monee 2, Marian Catholic 2: Amanda Baron and Adrianna Vera scored for the Warriors (1-2-1).

Stagg 3, Homewood-Flossmoor 2: Kelly Coderre and Sammi Farkos each scored for the Vikings (1-2) in the win.

Softball

Beecher 12, Herscher 2 (6 ian.): Winning pitcher Sarah Crews was 3-for-4 and a triple short of hitting for the cycle as the Ladycats (4-1) had little trouble with the Tigers.

Crews also threw a three-hit complete game. Savannah Soppet had two hits and three RBIs.

Crete-Monee 28, Rich South 1 (4 inn): Ashley Bartlett had seven RBIs and Heather O'Kelly and London Harris drove in four each as the Warriros (2-1, 1-0) rolled in a Southland Athletic Conference game.

Washington 13, Ag. Science 12: Anysa Nunes was 2-for-4 with three RBIs as the Patriots won the high-scoring affair.

Winning Alyssa Flores struck out nine.

Boys Water Polo

Homewood-Flossmoor 13, Lincoln-Way East 4: Kevin Kuchta's five goals and Hayden Santfeort's four goals led the Vikings (7-4) past the Griffins (9-6).

Jacobi McCellan had 11 saves.

Girls Water Polo

Lincoln-Way East 7, Homewood-Flossmoor 4: Lauren Roby's two goals and Anna Shirer's 11 saves led the Vikings in the loss to the Griffins.

Boys volleyball

Lincoln-Way North 25-25, Marian Catholic 15-16: Sean McGlone's five kills and nine digs led the Spartans (0-8) in the loss to the Phoenix.
