Bloom Township senior girls basketball player Bria Gaines was named to the Associated Press Class 3A/4A all-state second team, according to Bloom Township coach Ron Newquist.
"As hard as she worked, as much as she meant to her team, she deserves it," Newquist said. "Bria was a major part of our success and our winning a regional title."
Gaines, The Times 2011-12 Player of the Year, averaged 23.4 points, 15.9 rebounds and 4.9 blocks per game for the 23-4 Blazing Trojans.
The Western Kentucky recruit helped Bloom Township to a regional title and a 10-0 Southland Athletic Conference record.
