Lake Central senior boys basketball player Tyler Ross committed to play at Florida Southern on Wednesday, where he'll play for former Purdue player Linc Darner.
Ross, a Times Second Team All-Area pick, averaged 8.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game for the Indians, who finished runner-up in the Class 4A state championship game.
"Tyler played big for us," L.C. coach Dave Milausnic said. "He knocked down some big shots for us and grabbed some big rebounds for us. His semistate game was very big. He got a double-double."

Munster's boys hoops schedule gets big upgrade: Mustangs boys basketball coach Mike Hackett confirmed Munster's schedule for next season.
Instead of opening against Gavit, Munster will face Bishop Noll. And instead of ending the regular season against South Bend Riley, the Mustangs will host Bowman Academy before the postseason begins.

Hanover's Scott to sign Monday: Hanover Central senior wrestler Tyler Scott will sign his national letter of intent to the University of Indianapolis at 4:15 p.m. Monday. Scott finished fourth in the IHSAA state finals in the 195-pound weight class.
VCA duo make college commitments: Victory Christian Academy's Kaila Shock-Walker and Evan Duey have made their college commitments.
Duey will play soccer for Cornerstone (Mich.) University. Duey is set to graduate as the valedictorian of his class. He played goalie for the Lions, compiling nine shutouts.
Shock-Walker, a 2013 grad, will play basketball for Ancilla College. She's the program's all-time leader in rebounds in a season (295) and in a game (27).
Slicer Complex open house Saturday: LaPorte High School's athletic department and the boys and girls track teams invite the community to visit the new Slicer Track Complex from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Both teams will be practicing from 8 to 10 a.m.
The complex is located behind Kesling Middle School, 306 E 18th St.
Hebron baseball reunion: The Hebron baseball team will play in the Apache Classic on Saturday at Wabash, an event hosted by former Hebron coach Matt Stone.
The Hawks coaching staff includes Sean Riley, Sean Ryan and Chris Wiltfang, who all played for Stone in the 1980s. Also on hand will be Hebron Middle School principal Jeff Brooks, who was on Stone-coached Hawks teams as well. The other teams in the field are Leo and Tri-County.
