The spirit of giving: The Highland Basketball Club will run a toy drive during today's boys varsity basketball game against Merrillville. The junior varsity game is at 6 p.m., and the varsity game follows.
New and unwrapped toys collected at the game will be sent to Comer Children's Hospital in Chicago.

Tickets ($6 for high school students and adults, $5 for grades 1-8) are available at the Munster athletic office on Dec. 11, 12 and 16. Each fan is limited to five tickets.
Munster's Smith dialing it up at AT&T Nationals: Munster junior Nikki Smith will compete today in the 100 fly at the AT&T Winter National Championships.
She is seeded 42nd (55.21). The event takes place in Knoxville, Tenn., and runs through Saturday at the Allen Jones Aquatic Center. Smith was fifth in the 100 fly and ninth in the 200 individual medley at last season's IHSAA state meet.
