It was better late than never for the Hebron baseball team Monday.

Limited to one hit by Washington Township's Chase Peiffer through six innings, the Hawks rallied from a two-run deficit in the seventh to pull out a 3-2 Porter County Conference victory.

Jason Reick's triple, his second hit of the game, scored two runs to tie the game, and he was singled in by Zac Hernandez.

Mike Mikulich worked three scoreless innings for the victory.

Bryce Collins was 2-for-2, homering and scoring both Senators runs.

Boone Grove 6, Westville 0: Charlie Kidd tossed five shutout innings as the Wolves (5-1) opened the PCC season with a win over the Blackhawks. Kidd also had two hits along with Jake Morris, who knocked in two runs. Jake Gholston scored twice.

Andrean 11, Kankakee Valley 2 (5 innings): The Times No. 2 59ers (9-0, 5-0) scored 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to the NCC win. Matt DeSomer went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs scored and four RBIs. Chase Dawson was also 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Cullen Carey struck out five in three innings to pick up his first win.

Softball

Andrean 2, Hobart 2 (rain): After a 45-minute delay before the contest due to lightning in the area, and two innings mostly during a steady rain, the game was suspended and will be rescheduled. Both teams scored a pair of runs in the second inning, aided by the rain and wetness without any hits.

Cat Murad and Sam Henry scored Andrean’s runs, both on passed balls. Brianna Kraft and Brittany Probasco scored Hobart runs on a wild pitch and a double steal.

Morgan Township 7, Kouts 2: Kari Gourley's grand slam highlighted a six-run third inning that powered the Cherokees to the PCC victory. Leslee Rassel went 3-for-3 with two runs, while Morgan Lippens and Samantha Banik each contirbuted two hits for Morgan. Kylie Bruce accounted for all of the offense for Kouts (2-2, 0-1) with a two-run homer in the first inning.

Hebron 12, Washington Township 4: Rachel Pauer was 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs to lead the Hawks to the win in the PCC. Winning pitcher Katie Clemens and Brianna Spicer also registered three hits for Hebron. Shelby Yankauskas, Sam Stueber and Miranda Fornuto all knocked in two runs and Maggie Lindeman homered.
