For the first time in five years, someone other than South Central will win Class A Sectional 51.
The Satellites, winners of the last four titles, lost to host Culver Community 1-0 in Monday's weather-delayed semifinals. Westville was edged by Triton 3-2 in the other semi.
Culver scored the game's only run in the first inning off Adam Clindaniel, who allowed just five hits. S.C. (15-9) managed just four hits, one of them a Logan Lionberger double, against Kyle Vlach.
Austin Swistek had three of Westville's nine hits, but the Blackhawks (9-17) could only muster runs in the third, when it scored twice on an Eric Quinn hit to get within 3-2. Neither team scored the rest of the way. Swistek went the distance in defeat.
The championship game, originally slated for Monday afternoon, was pushed back to today due to delays in starting the semifinals.
Rain and wet field conditions forced the postponement of games at the Class 4A LaPorte, Class 2A Boone Grove and Class A Washington Township sites.
