Marquette Catholic's Emma Nolan was recognized by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association as the District 1 IBCA/Subway Player of the Week.

Nolan had 21 points (19 in the second half) on 10-of-13 shooting and nine rebounds in a win over Oregon-Davis. She then scored 30 points (13 of 18 field goals) at Andrean in the Blazers' 74-23 win on Saturday.

Chesterton's Courtney Krol, Michigan City's Hannah Noveroske, LaPorte's Riley Ott, West Side's Dash Shaw, and Daijah Smith of Lighthouse were also nominated for their performances last week.

Football

Class 4A state finals tickets on sale today: Advance sales tickets to Saturday's Class 4A state championship football game will be on sale at Lowell High School today, Wednesday and Friday this week.

Tickets are $15 each and will be on sale in the Sprit Shack from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5-7:30 p.m. today and Wednesday, and from 9-11 a.m. on Friday.

Boys basketball

Homewood-Flossmoor 61, T.F. South 55: Eric Blair scored 15 to lead the Rebels in the loss. Cameren Terrell had 11.

Illiana Christian 67, Somonauk 43: Collin Flipse led the Vikings (1-0) with 18 points in their season-opening win at the Seneca Thanksgiving Tournament. Alex Eenigenburg added 11.
