Portage athletic director Kelly Bermes was forced to resign, according to an email sent Monday to members of the high school coaching staff with assistant A.D. Fred Joseph moving into the position.
Neither Bermes nor Joseph could be reached for comment.
Portage superintendent Amanda Alaniz could also not be reached late Monday.

Marquette Catholic 11, Kouts 0: Will Cannon collected a hat trick and a pair of assists as the Blazers (10-3-2) blasted by the Mustangs. Joe Disser and Sidney Mahone each scored two goals. Jon Beglin had a goal and two assists. Robert Luscomb, Gavin O'Halloran and Bryan Gonzalez also scored.
Clark 2, Highland 1: Alex Lopez and Marco Medina found the back of the net for the Pioneers (11-3). Sam Perez and Mauricio Marquez had assists. Josiah Calderon made 12 saves.

Boone Grove 11, Washington Twp. 2: Lexi Darnell notched a pair of goals and added three assists in a blowout win for the Wolves. Lauren Cason also scored two goals. Kouts 25-25-25, LaCrosse 11-15-15: Hannah Maier notched 13 kills in a win for the Fillies. Sadie Leatherman added seven kills. Abby Maier was 67-of-67 setting with 26 assists.
Porter County Conference tournament: Hebron defeated Boone Grove (25-17, 25-14, 25-14) as Peyton Doelling led the Hawks with 20 kills. Carson Roeske chipped in 11 kills. Steve Miskus had 42 assists.
New Prairie 3, Wheeler 2: Clayton Sanders (No. 2 singles) and Ahmed Safadi (No. 3 singles) recorded wins for the Bearcats (9-5).
Calumet 5, Hammond Academy 0: Daniel Nieto outlasted Zack Garcia at No. 1 singles for the Warriors (10-5). Eric Koi won at No. 3 singles. James Sopariz and Juan Lopez added wins at No. 1 doubles.
