Senior Grant Nykaza of Beecher placed fifth at Saturday's Foot Locker Cross Country Championships Midwest Regional at UW-Parskide in Kenosha, Wis.
Nykaza ran a 15:04.
Anna Rohrer of Mishawaka and Jake Leingang of Bismark, N.D., were the individual winners. Rohrer broke the course record in 16:54. The previous course record was held by Claire Durkin of Columbus, Ohio, at 17:01 in 2007. Leingang claimed his title in 14:56.
The top 10 boys and girls qualified to compete against runners from the Northeast, South and West Regional meets in the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals on Dec. 8 at Morley Field, Balboa Park in San Diego.

Crete-Monee 53, Providence 47: Marvie Keith led the Warriors with 25 points, helping his team win the WJOL Thanksgiving Tournament. Mark Conner had 12 points, while Rashad Lee added 10. Conner was selected as the tournament MVP, while Keith garnered all-tournament honors.
