Rashaan Surles hit a 3-point buzzer-beater to give Times No. 3 Homewood-Flossmoor a 68-65 overtime boys basketball win over Hillcrest on Saturday afternoon.
Marius Hill added 13 points for the Vikings (17-5).
Wrestling
Class 1A Plano Sectional: Beecher-Grant Park's Devin Mahnke remained undefeated as he won the 182-pound weight class.
He beat Wilmington's Dexter Fierro with an 11-1 major decision.
The top four individuals in each weight class advance to the Class 3A state meet in Champaign.
Illiana Christian's Zach Groen suffered his first loss of the year and took third at 170. Beecher-Grant Park's Kevin McNally was fourth.
Also advancing was St. Francis de Sales' Paul Ivy, who was third at 160.
Class 3A Moline Sectional: Homewood-Flossmoor's Donnie Bell won the 182-pound title and teammate Mike Burke was second (106) and qualified for the Class 3A state meet in Champaign.
Boys Indoor Track and Field
Thornwood meet: The host Thunderbirds won the 2-mile relay (8:47.74), 880 (1:40.12) and 1-mile relay (3:40.06) at the five-team meet.
Thornwood's Kenneth Allen won the 50 (5.63) and 300 (33.6) dashes. Wole Daramola took first in the 600 (1:23.46). Mike McKenzie won the shot put (42-5).
Illiana Christian's Kevin Vroegh won the 880 (2:10.08)
