The Marian Catholic boys tennis team won 13 of its 15 matches on the day and went 3-0 at the Lincoln-Way Central Quadrangular on Saturday.
Marian beat Coal City 4-1, Plainfield Central 4-1 and Lincoln-Way Central 5-0.
Kyle Scheffers won two matches at No. 1 singles and teamed up with Paul Lamb for a win at No. 1 singles against Plainfield Central.
Kevin Kwok won two singles matches and a doubles match as he teamed with Chuck Helsel. Patrick Murday won two singles matches, then he and Sam Roche won in doubles against Lincoln-Way Central.
Helsel came away with three doubles wins with three different partners as did Sam Roche.
Lockport Invitational: T.F. South's Jessica Gomez went 5-0 on Saturday to win the No. 1 singles championship as the Rebels finished second to Buffalo Grove, 32-30, in the 12-team meet.
Gomez raised her record to 28-0 on the season.
At No. 2 singles South's Cassie Breshock also went 5-0 to win the title in that division. And teammate Jenna Pasko went 5-0 to win the No. 3 singles championship.
Marian Catholic 14, Andrew 2: Pat Schmidt had a three-run homer and had five RBIs on the day as The Times No. 4 Spartans (4-4) pounded out 16 hits in a win over the Thunderbolts.
Kellen Williams had three hits, two stolen bases and a RBI. Chris Baker, Mark DiLuia and Mike Bainbridge had two RBIs each. Winning pitcher Bryce Hennessy struck out six.
Richards 16 Mount Carmel 15 (8 inn.): Jeremy Houston was 4-for-6 with a double and two RBIs and Dave Dobrnich was 3-for-4 with a homer, double and two RBIs, but The Times No. 1 Caravan (5-1) fell to the Bulldogs.
Mount Carmel had taken a 15-14 lead in the top of the eighth, but Richards scored twice for the win.
Joliet Catholic 10, Crete-Monee 2: Ashley Bartlett had two hits including a double, and Sarah Rizzo had a double for the Warriors (0-2) in the loss to the Angels.
Bishop Noll 7, Merrillville 1: Andie Freemouw struck out eight and threw a one-hitter as the Warriors opened their season with a win over the Pirates.
Brittany Anderson had three hits and scored a run, and Erin Mullaney had two, and scored a run and drove in one. Tori Keilman had two RBIs.
Bishop Noll 7, Munster 1: Brittany Anderson went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three RBIs and two runs scored to lead Bishop Noll (2-0) to its second win of the day. Elena Sobilo knocked in two runs and Tori Keilman had two hits for the Warriors.
Boys water polo
Homewood-Flossmoor 13, St. Patrick 10: Broc Thompson's seven goals and Marcus Perry's hat trick led the Vikings (5-6) to the win over the Shamrocks.
Jakobi McClellan had 13 saves.
Marian Catholic 19, Minooka 0: Celeste Friel had six goals, while Caitlin Henry, Rachel Piacentini, Bailey Dixon and Aliya Rodriguez two goals each to lead the Spartans (3-4) to the home win.
