T.F. South boys bowler Anthony Pena finished strong on Saturday for 14th place individually at the IHSA state finals at St. Clair Bowl in O'Fallon.
He had a 1,291 for the day and a 668 in his final series. That series included a 258 in his first of the three-game set.
Pena totaled 2,609 for two days and had a 217.4 average.
Lockport's Shane Matejcek was the individual winner with a 2,924. The Porters also won the team title with a 12,846.
Girls Basketball
Sweet 16 Tournament: Ashton Millender scored 39 points in two games to lead Times No. 1 Marian Catholic to two wins at Lake Zurich.
Millender had 16 points, including four 3-pointers in a 66-40 win over Barrington in the afternoon. Teniya Page added 11 points as Marian held the Fillies to single-digit scoring in each of the first three quarters. Melanie Ransom pulled down seven rebounds.
In a 63-38 win over New Trier, Millender scored 23 as the Spartans improved to 23-1.
Boys Basketball
Illinois Lutheran 88, Tri-Point 41: Mack Newson's 30 points led the Chargers (12-6, 6-3) to the River Valley Conference and homecoming win.
Austin Wood added 19 points.
Wrestling
East Suburban Catholic Conference meet: Marian Catholic was sixth with 42 points and Marist won with eight-team event with 226.
Marian Catholic's Jake Domke was third at 120 pounds. Chris Harris (106) and Justin Avant (220) both finished fourth.
