Blake Tisza (138 pounds), Austin Berryhill (160), Joe Young (182) and Cornithian McBridge (285) all won by fall to lead the T.F. South wrestling team to a 40-34 win over Bradley-Bourbonnais on Saturday.
“The kids wrestled well today," Rebels coach Mike Tisza said. "We need to keep our focus and keep improving.”
Berwyn-Cicero Morton quadrangular: Bloom Township won two of its three matches. The Blazing Trojans beat Evanston, 37-31, and Hoffman Estates, 44-23. Morton beat Bloom 37-35.
Double winners for the Blazing Trojans were Raekwon Williams (103 pounds), Brian Ruiz (120), Alex Wiggs (145), Toby Lee (152), Dominique Taylor (160), Johnnie Foster (182), Mr. Clark (195) and Alexzander Clark (285).
Boys Basketball
Marian Catholic 60, Quincy 39: Tyler Ulis scored 15 points to lead the Times No. 1 Spartans to a rout of the Blue Devils.
It was a coaching matchup of brothers as Marian's Mike Taylor took on his brother Sean, who is Quincy's coach.
Josh Cohn added 11 points for Marian (16-1). T.J. Parham scored 10 points for the Spartans, and Kevin Phillips narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Boys Bowling
Chicago Catholic League Tournament: Mount Carmel amassed 4,530 pins to finish fourth as a team.
Ryan Hernandez led the Caravan with a 998 five-game series, while Jordan Elder finished with a 908.
