Aaron Ellis scored on a quarterback sneak in overtime, and the Boone Grove defense stuffed Indianapolis Marshall on its possession as the Wolves (6-1) claimed a 14-7 road victory Saturday.
"The long bus ride's tough," Boone coach Tony Tinkel said. "We had a couple kids who were sick and couldn't play, but they adjusted really well. Marshall plays real hard, but we were able to overcome it."
Ellis connected with Niko Kilburg on a 60-yard pass in the second quarter to break a scoreless tie. Marshall (5-2) tied it late in the third quarter and withstood a pair of Wolves' field goal tries in the fourth to get the game to overtime.
Lowell 2, Hebron 0: Lowell's Hayley Farmer scored the game's only two goals as the Red Devils topped Hebron.
Farmer was assisted by Melissa McBride and Kimi Kasparian, while goalie Rebecca Koon made 11 saves in the shutout.
Shely Keehn had 10 saves for the Hawks.
Hobart 3, Portage 2: Heather Mock scored a goal and added an assist for the Brickies in the win. Alexis Jenkins and Sydney Hicks netted the other scores for Hobart as Pam Richa made three saves.
Bree Coleman's eight saves helped the Indians, who picked up goals from Brooke Jackson and Carrie Prohl.
Wheeler 5, Lowell 2: Joey DeSimone scored twice and assisted on a third goal for the Bearcats (8-6-2) in the tuneup to this week's sectional against the Red Devils. Cameron Foor chipped in two goals, and Adam Handley had two assists for Wheeler.
South Shore Christian Conference Tournament: Victory Christian (12-4-2) reached the finals with a 6-0 win over Homeschool Resource, then lost 4-1 in a penalty-kick shootout to Kankakee Trinity. Isaac Bustos fashioned a hat trick in the win, with Andre Guadron adding two goals and an assist. Brian Gibson scored twice in the finals match, which was 4-4 after regulation.
Charger Invite: At Elkhart Memorial, Chesterton (14-10) finished 1-2, losing to the hosts and Fairfield while defeating Carroll (Fort Wayne). The Trojans were led by Jessica Urycki (20 kills), Kennedy Baltus (27 assists), Aubrey Nagdeman (6 aces) and Jordyn Moleski (28 digs).
South Shore Christian Conference Tournament: Victory Christian (26-3) downed Grace Christian 25-16, 25-11 to capture the title. Gabby Carlson (6 kills), Hannah Kroll (4 kills, 5 blocks), Elly Smith (20 assists) and Jessica Holbrook (6 blocks) powered the Lions.
