Times No. 7 Griffith outscored No. 3 E.C. Central 22-6 in the fourth quarter to overcome a 13-point deficit for a 59-56 upset victory Saturday.
Tremell Murphy led the Panthers (13-4) with 21 points. Flint Powell had 16 points, and Anthony Murphy scored 13.
The Cardinals (10-6) were led by Damien Jefferson's 19 points.
Hanover Central 63, North Newton 61: The Wildcats (1-16, 1-6) topped the Spartans (1-15, 1-7) in a Greater South Shore Conference game for their first win of the season. Bobby McClelland's 16 points led Hanover Central.
Kyle Mack and Bryce Carden had 15 points each to lead North Newton.
Lowell 54, Kankakee Valley 39: Zack VanHook's 12 points and five rebounds led the Red Devils (12-3, 4-2) to a Northwest Crossroads Conference win over the Kougars (6-12 (0-5). Billy Barker added 10 points.
Kankakee Valley was led by Steve Ganzeveld's 15 points.
New Prairie 52, South Central 35: Mark Richards scored a team-high 14 points, but the Cougars defeated the Satellites. Richards drained four 3-pointers.
Michigan City 108.25, Chesterton 105.4: Chesterton's Brandi Tuzinski won the all-around (37.55), but state No. 5 Michigan City defeated the No. 7 Trojans in Duneland Athletic Conference action.
Michigan City's Ashley Koza finished second in the all-around (37.3), tied Tuzinski for first on floor (9.3) and won bars (9.55).
Tuzinski also won beam (9.5) and vault (9.4).
