Lake Central took team honors at the Harrison Invitational on Saturday with a score of 335 at Coyote Crossing.
The Indians' Matt Meneghetti was the medalist with a 77, while teammate Kyle Theil took third with an 80. Rounding out the Indians' scoring were Nick Good (86) and Rhett Barker (92).
Calumet Invitational: Morgan Township's Tyler Abbett was medalist with a 94 at Turkey Creek, but Hobart won the team title with a 378.
The Cherokees were second with 414. Ethan Franyi led Hobart with a 90.
Hobart 11, Hebron 6: Hannah Wilson went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs in leading the Brickies (5-3) past the Hawks. Amanda Sandilla was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Hope Messina added two runs and three RBIs as the Brickies pulled away with a five-run sixth.
For Hebron, Rachel Pauer had three hits.
LaPorte 12, Plymouth 0 (5 inn.): LaPorte freshman pitcher Reily Galloway sparkled in her first varsity start, no-hitting Plymouth. Galloway had 10 strikeouts and allowed three walks for the Slicers (3-2). Emma Dickson and Lexie Frame were each 3-for-4.
Portage 3-6, Indianapolis Scecina 1-2: Kaitlin Doud was a combined 4-for-8 with three doubles and four runs scored, and she capped the sweep by going the distance in the nightcap with seven strikeouts. Kiley Jones tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the opener for the Indians (6-1). Alexis Johnson was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in the nightcap.
Westville 10-12, West Central 0-1: Beth Piotrowski was a combined 5-for-7 with a double, and she tossed a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the nightcap to lead the Blackhawks to the sweep. Sister Katie Piotrowski tossed a two-hitter in the opener. She helped her cause by going 2-for-3. Michaela Shrader had a home run in the opener. Sydney Chasko was 3-for-4 with a double in the nightcap.
Munster 11, Clark 0: Joe Bryant, John Pitsas and Alec Skalka each hit home runs, while Brandon Tepper and Jacob Ahlf combined for a no-hitter in a five-inning game against Clark (1-3). Bryant finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored for Munster (7-1). Tom DeCero was 2-for-2 with a double, and Alex Del Rio doubled twice for the Mustangs.
Kankakee Valley Tournament: Boone Grove rallied for six runs in the top of the seventh inning to edge the host Kougars 11-8 in the championship. Darrell Maxey led the Wolves, going 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Jeff Birchfield was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Andrew Jackson was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for K.V.
Boone Grove advanced to the title game with a 12-2 five-inning win over Gavit. Maxey was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. John Morris was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Charlie Kidd tossed five innings of three-hit ball with four strikeouts.
John Wilson was 1-for-2 with both RBIs for the Gladiators.
Valparaiso 6, Griffith 1: Elliott Granados went 4-for-4 with three RBIs; Sam Miller was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Kyle Miller doubled and scored three times as the visiting Vikings (2-1) prevailed at Griffith (3-2).
Amir Wright drove in the Panthers' lone run.
Morgan Township 7, Calumet 6: The Warriors jumped ahead with six runs in the top of the seventh inning, but the host Cherokees responded with five runs of their own for the win. Connor Martin was 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored for the Cherokees.
Portage 16, Morton 6 (6 inn.): Chris Klenk had two triples, three RBIs and two runs scored to lead the No. 4 Indians (5-1) over the Governors. Jared Ford scattered seven hits over five innings with five strikeouts to pick up the win. He was also 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Jacob Bearrs was 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Hunter Thorn was 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Cody Earl was 2-for-3 with a home run for Morton. Devontae Robinson was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, and Patrick McCormick was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Doc Mueller Classic: Evan Miller (3-0) scattered six hits with 10 strikeouts, leading LaPorte to a 6-3 win over Lakeshore (Mich.) 6-3 in the title game. Jake Benefiel was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Slicers (6-1).
Jake Waterson (1-0) tossed a three-hitter with six strikeouts to lead LaPorte over Elkhart Memorial 2-1. Drew Jones added a double for the Slicers, while Cameron Watt was 2-for-3.
