Gina Rubino led Times No. 3 Lake Central with 17 points, while Tara Zlotkowski added 13 points in a 53-41 win over IBCA preseason No. 16 Hamilton Southeastern at the Valparaiso Tip Off Classic.
Lindsay Kusbel chipped in 10 points for the Indians.
The Indians also defeated Fishers, 57-50. Rubino paced the Indians again with 19 points, while Kusbel added 16.
Also at the Tip Off Classic, Grace Withrow had 16 points, seven assists and three steals to lead Valparaiso to a 61-58 double-overtime win over Hamilton Southeastern. Heather Fetla added 13 points for the host Vikings (2-1), while Stephanie Parker was also in double figures with 10.
Fishers defeated Valparaiso 57-39 in the Vikings' second game of the day. Withrow led the Vikings with nine points.
Covenant Christian Tipoff Tournament: Covenant Christian defeated Marquette Catholic 63-12 in the championship game of the tournament.
Jennifer Heerema led Covenant with 17 points. Calli Beezhold added 12 points, while Renae Dieter added 11.
Gary Lighthouse edged Victory Christian 40-36 in the third place game.
Marquette Catholic scored a last-second shot to beat Gary Lighthouse 45-44 in the opening round of the tournament. Colleen Falk scored 14 points, and Seroyah McNeal-Johnson added 10 to lead the Blazers.
Destiny Browning had 27 points and Kennesha Trambles 15 to lead Lighthouse.
Covenant Christian beat Victory Christian, 50-11, in the second first-round game. Beezhold and Heerema scored 10 apiece, and Megan Buiter had 10 rebounds to lead Covenant.
Callie Klingbeil scored 8 for Victory Christian.
Hanover Central 60, Lake Station 39: Kristen Roper led the Wildcats (2-0, 2-0 Greater South Shore Conference) with 15 points in the rout. Brooke Sterkowitz and Lisa Gac added 14 points.
Desiree Parrillo paced the Eagles with 15 points.
Highland 60, Boone Grove 25: Alyssa Kikalos had a game-high 12 points, as the visiting Trojans (2-0) crushed the No. 10 Wolves (1-1). Ellie Morinville added 10 points.
Rachel Cantwell led Boone Grove with 11 points.
Griffith 42, River Forest 38: The Panthers (1-1) got 11 points from Courtney Bell in the win.
The Ingots (0-2) got 15 points from Kali Winkler and nine from Jessica Serrano.
Lowell 74, E.C. Central 36: Hunter Jusevitch paced the Red Devils with 22 points in the lopsided win.
Hebron 42, Wheeler 39: The Hawks outscored the visiting Bearcats 11-1 in the third quarter and held on for the win in the season opener for both schools. Madison Bell led Hebron with nine points.
Ilivia Horsefall led Wheeler with a game-high 10 points.
Whiting 60, Clark 23: The Oilers (1-1) got their first win of the year as Mariah Trimble scored 18, Citlali Lopez scored 14 and Courtney Blackwell had 11 in the win over the rival Pioneers (0-1)
Penn 118, Munster 68: Mary Beth Blocher had a solid day, winning the 50 free (24.59) and 100 free (53.22) for Munster, but the Kingsmen won nine of the 12 events to cruise to the dual meet win.
Nikki Smith won the 100 fly (59.36), and the Mustangs took the 400 free relay in 3:34.62.

Mideast Cross Country Championship: LaPorte's Elena Lancioni finished fifth in 18 minutes, 41 seconds to lead the Indiana team to 45 points and win the Mideast Cross Country Championship in Kettering, Ohio.
