Maria Nanninga totaled 63 points, including a school-record 32 in the semifinals Saturday, leading host Covenant Christian to the title in its fifth annual Tipoff Tournament.

She had 31 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals in a 57-47 championship win over Heritage Christian. Earlier, she had 32 points in a 78-17 win over Faith Christian. Nanninga also had seven steals, five rebounds and four assists.

Mya Herrema added 12 points.

Boone Grove 56, Griffith 25: Rachel Wilkening had a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Wolves over the Panthers.

Madi Pfister and Mackenzie Cantwell each scored 13 points, while Angela Casanova had five steals and six assists.

LaPorte 91, South Bend Clay 14: Riley Ott led the Slicers with 15 points.

Ryin Ott added 13 points, while Nyla Asad had 10.

E.C. Central 74, Lowell 37: Tai-yanna Jackson scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Cardinals over the Red Devils.

Zariah Frierson added 18 points for E.C. Central. Nia Hurt added 13, while Tiara jackson had 11.

Dani Collins led Lowell with 13.

Merrillville 43, Andrean 30: Kennedy Tanniehill led the Pirates (1-2) with 15 points, and Torri Miller added 12 points and nine steals.

Karli Miller led Andrean with 11 points.

Kankakee Valley 79, Kouts 20: Lindsey Stokes scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Kougars (3-1) over the Fillies (1-2).

Teammate Sarah Martin added 20.

Highland 37, West Side 36: Michaela Schmidt scored 16 points to lead the Trojans over the Cougars.

Dash Shaw had 13 for West Side, while Trinity Thompson scored 12.

North Judson 53, Portage 43: Hanna Piro led the Indians with 13 point, while Skylar Flanagan added 11.

Girls swimming

Penn 109, Munster 77: Kay Foley won the 100-yard fly (57.72 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.62), but the Mustangs lost to the Kingsmen.

Foley also teamed with Audrey Beck, Lindsy Vanek and Brisa Bohling to win the 400 freestyle relay (3:45.06).

Beck won the 100 free (57.45), while Vanek won the 100 backstroke (1;01.68).
