Bloom Township boys basketball coach Jasper Williams will retire from teaching and coaching at the end of the 2011-12 school year.
Williams said this is his last season as the Blazing Trojans coach. In 10 years at Bloom, he is 192-99. Last year's team finished fourth in Class 4A.
Williams was the head coach at Thornridge in 1993-94 and was 19-8.
Wrestling
Coaching milestone: Bloom Township wrestling coach Tom Tong recently won his 300th match.
The Blazing Trojans won four matches on Saturday for the milestone.
Girls Basketball
St. Francis De Sales 48, St. Benedict 36: Tyler Henderson-Brown scored 19 points to lead the Pioneers (2-5) to the win.
Andrew 60, Thornton 38: Thornton's Kierra Reed scored 10 points, but it wasn't enough as Andrew cruised to the win.
Homewood-Flossmoor 59, Joliet West 33: Sydni Johnson led the Vikings (6-3, 1-0 SWSC) with 13 points and eight rebounds in the rout.
Illinois Lutheran 41, Donovan 39: Kendall Newton and Janell Heyn scored nine points apiece in the close win.
Caroline Kuether pulled down eight rebounds for the Chargers.
T.F. South 55, Reavis 37: Jessica Majors scored 17 points and hauled in 16 rebounds to lead the Rebels in the win.
Kameron Dickens added 11 points for the Rebels (2-3).
St. Anne 56, Beecher 50: Ashley Carroll scored 18 points, but the Bobcats were outplayed in the second half in the loss.
Danielle Snuckel scored 16 points and added five assists.
Seton Academy 48, King 28: Desiree Jackson led the Sting (6-4) with 16 points and 12 rebounds in the rout.
Maria Cole added 11 points.
T.F. North 56, Richards 49: Devin Luster scored 13 points to lead the Meteors to the close win.
Chanel Howard had 11 points while Esther Fagbemi and Bianca Ruiz pulled down nine rebounds apiece.
Girls Bowling
T.F. South 1734, Eisenhower 1363: Lauren Hart posted a two-game series of 443 (232-211) to lead the Rebels to the win.
Kayla Garcia was second on the team with a 385 series (189-196).
Boys Bowling
T.F. North 1820, Reavis 1690: Deante Askew bowled a two-game series of 408 (215-193) to lead the Meteors.
Askew's 215 first game was the highest score of the match.
