Crete-Monee football player Anthony Standifer has withdrawn his commitment to play for the University of Michigan, Crete-Monee football coach Jerry Verde told The Times.
Standifer, a defensive back, will play in the Semper Fidelis All-American Game on Jan. 3 in Phoenix. He could not be reached for comment.
One recruiting service listed him as the No. 46 cornerback in the nation and No. 14 in Illinois.
"He has multiple schools looking at him seriously," Verde said.
Standifer was a Times All-Area selection with 32 solo tackles, 11 assists and four interceptions. As a junior, he led the state with nine interceptions.
He was a big part of Crete-Monee posting its first undefeated regular season since 1952. The Warriors finished 10-1, losing to Peoria Richwoods in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs.
Verde also said junior LaQuon Treadwell has been offered by Nebraska. He also has been offered by Michigan and Notre Dame.
