Marian Cathlic senior basketball player Tyler Ulis was selected to play in the McDonalds's All-American Games on April 2 at United Center.
Ulis, a Kentucky recruit, will be on the West team with Whitney Young's Jahil Okafor. He will also be teammates with fellow Kentucky recruits Devin Booker and Trey Lyles.
"Devin and I had talked about getting together on the same court before we go to Kentucky," Ulis said. "I'm pretty excited, especially since the game is in Chicago, right in the city I play in. My whole (Marian) team is going to be there."
Ulis said he thought he might not make the team.
"I was a little worried, but then it was out of my control," he said. "Devin told me not to worry about it.
"I think winning in Dayton (Ohio) with some McDonald's people there helped. My teammates playing real well down there and us winning, was a boost."
The games help raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities. -- Mike Nieto
