Times No. 7 Andrean used an 11-run third inning Thursday to rout No. 6 Bishop Noll 14-0 in softball action.

Jessica Pruitt had four RBIs for the 59ers in the five-inning contest. Savannah Kinsella and Cat Murad each added two RBIs.

Portage 10, Highland 0: Kiley Jones tossed a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts, and she added two hits and an RBI as the No. 4 Indians (18-4) defeated the Trojans. Alexis Johnson was 2-for-4 with a three-run home run; Kaitlin Doud was 3-for-4 with a run scored, and Stephanie Upton was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.

Wheeler 5, Griffith 0: Nickole Finch tossed a five-hitter with 11 strikeouts, added three hits and scored twice in the Bearcats' win.

Sammi Adams went 2-for-3 for the Panthers.

Kouts 8, Knox 2: Emily Kolb was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored as the Fillies (7-11) defeated the Redskins (3-17).

Alyse Rosenbaum was 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored; Kaylee Heimberg (2-10) tossed a four-hitter with three strikeouts, and Emma Leatherman was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Hobart 3, Valparaiso 2 (8 inn.): Maddy Adams went the distance with nine strikeouts as the Brickies edged the Vikings. Aimee Pope was 2-for-3 with a triple and RBI, while Amanda Sandilla was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Abbey Thomas (two RBIs) and Megan Krantz had doubles for Valpo.

Michigan City 13, Morgan Township 3: Aubria Smith was 3-for-5 as the visiting Wolves defeated the Cherokees (12-11). Jameka Collins was 2-for-4.

Morgan Lippens and Samantha Banik each added two hits for Morgan Township.

 

Baseball

Bishop Noll 6, Highland 4: Julian Guerrero struck out the side in one inning of scoreless relief to earn the win for the Times No. 4 Warriors. Guerrero and Matt Sandoval each drove in a run for Noll, which scored five runs in the fifth inning.

Danny Hamilton went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Highland.

Griffith 11, Hammond Academy 1 (5 inn.): Jesse Smith went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs to help lead the Panthers to the win. Matt Colomes added three RBIs and scored twice for Griffith.

Xavier Reillo drove in Hammond Academy's only run.

Lowell 8, Morton 2: Myles Siedentopf and Jordan Hansen both drove in two runs to lead the Red Devils (10-13) past the Governors (11-7).

Morton's Aurelio Cazares had three hits and drove in a run.

 

Boys golf

Marquette Catholic 162, Wheeler 178, Whiting 209: Patrick Roder fired a 39 to lead the Times No. 9 Blazers to a Greater South Shore Conference triangular win.

Jack Clancy, Tyler Paholski and Hunter Paholski all turned in a 41 for Marquette.

Wheeler's Brad Young carded a 39, while Drew Heinold turned in a 41.

Jake Jacobson shot a 46 to lead Whiting.

Valparaiso 150, Chesterton 167: The No. 1 Vikings (19-1, 11-1) had the top four scores, including a 1-under 35 by medalist Bobby Jacobs, to defeat the host Trojans in Duneland Athletic Conference play at Sand Creek's Creek nine.

Evan Zondor led Chesterton with a 41.
