Class A No. 1 Wheeler and No. 15 Marquette Catholic advanced to the Class A girls soccer sectional championship at Wheeler with wins Thursday.

The host Bearcats defeated Westville 9-0, while the Blazers edged Bishop Noll 3-1.

Stacy Barron scored twice for Marquette Catholic. Teammate Michaela Jennings also scored for the Blazers (15-3). Nadia Flores had nine saves.

The title game is set for 6 p.m. Saturday.

Covenant Christian Sectional: Boone Grove advanced to the championship match in Class A play. 

Boone Grove defeated Hebron 5-4.

Allison Hano had two goals and an assist for Hebron. Katlyn Cherry and Haley Rokosz also scored for the Hawks.

The Wolves will face the Renseelaer-Covenant Christian winner for the title at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Penn Sectional: LaPorte edged past Mishawaka 1-0 to advance to the championship in Class 3A play.

The Slicers meet the host Kingsmen at 6 p.m. Saturday for the crown.

Boys soccer

Boone Grove Sectional: Andrean shut out Kouts 2-0 to advance to the title game in Class A.

The 59ers will meet today's winner of the Morgan Township-Boone Grove semifinal at 2 p.m. Saturday for the championship.

Girls volleyball

Bishop Noll 25-25-25, Griffith 8-14-8: Bella Kuechenberg had 15 kills, five aces and eight digs to lead the Warriors past the Panthers.
