Bri Blackwell reached 1,000 points for her career by scoring 12 while helping Whiting to a 57-18 win over Clark on Thursday night in the Battle of 119th Street.
Blackwell, who has committed to Indiana-South Bend, Citlali Lopez, who scored a game-high 14 points, and Courtney Blackwell, who added 11 points, helped the Oilers (11-8) take a commanding 37-12 halftime lead.
Oshuntique Woods and Anastasia Holden had five points each for Clark (5-14).
Gavit 52, Hammond Academy of Science and Technology 23: Shanika Thornton's 30 points led the Gladiators (6-12) to the win.
Kyaira Hill's 15 points led HAST (3-8).
Griffith 43, Calumet 19: Jasmine Alvarez's 11 points and Courtney Bell's nine led the Panthers (9-10) to a win over the Warriors (3-16).
Charlotte Eckman's nine points paced Calumet.
Hanover Central 69, Marquette 25: Kristen Roper and Brooke Sterkowitz had 13 points each to lead the Wildcats (10-9, 5-2) to a Greater South Shore Conference win over the Blazers (4-13, 0-8).
D'Aria Kincaid's 16 points led Marquette.
Munster 67, Hammond 34: Madelynn Moore recorded a triple-double (16 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds), and Jordan Cole (19 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds) and Megan Zabrecky (16 points, 12 rebounds) each had double-doubles for the Mustangs (8-11).
Diamond Fields (14 points) and Dartayvia Beals (10 points) led Hammond (5-12).
Granger Christian 64, Victory Christian 30: Victory Christian ran into a buzz saw in the form of the Granger Christian Knights, Indiana's No. 1 Christian girls basketball team. Hannah Martinez led the Knights (22-1) with 18 points, which included four 3-point field goals.
Maria Reisinger had a solid game for the Lions (8-9), leading her team with eight points and six steals. Callie Klingbeil pulled down 15 rebounds in a losing cause for Victory.
Hebron 63, Westville 38: Madison Bell scored 17 points, and Lauren Carlson pitched in 13 to pace the Hawks (7-10, 3-4) to a Porter County Conference victory. Shelby Yankauskas notched 10 points for Hebron.
Freshman Mary Parkman posted 17 for Westville (0-17, 0-7), with Stephanie Popp contributing 12.
North Judson 58, Boone Grove 30: Rachel Cantwell put up 14 points for the Wolves (2-14) in their loss to the Bluejays.
Merrillville 107.875, Portage 107.6: Danielle Solis won the all-around (9.525), beam (9.7) and floor (9.7), but the No. 3 Pirates used their depth to upend the No. 2 Indians in Duneland Athletic Conference action.
Teammate Madison Kurtz won bars (9.3).
Merrillville’s Heather Osorio was second on bars (9.2) and beam (9.275) plus third in all-around (36.6).
Valpo-L.C. meet tonight: Valparaiso's home meet with Lake Central that was postponed Jan. 28 due to the weather will be made up tonight. Competition begins at 6 p.m. in the fieldhouse.
