Hobart senior Morgan Flaharty has committed to the Indiana Northwest basketball team.
Flaharty, a 6-foot forward, is averaging 10 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 steals a game for the Brickies this season.
"We identified Morgan early on in her high school career as a talented and versatile post player that will fit perfectly with the talented young backcourt players that we have in our program," IU Northwest coach Ryan Shelton said in a media release. "She is a strong rebounder and has an offensive skill set where she can post up on the blocks as well as step out and has range to 3-point distance."
Flaharty will join Brickie teammate Grayce Roach on the RedHawks roster next season.
Kankakee Valley 73, North Judson 43: Bethany Jansma scored 23 points to go with nine assists, six steals and five rebounds as the Kougars (8-4) clipped the Bluejays (3-8). Breanna Toppen and Lauren Stokes added 19 and 17 points, respectively, for K.V.
River Forest 64, Covenant Christian 33: Brandon Laas scored 22 points in leading the Ingots (5-4 ) past the Knights.
River Forest had 23 steals and jumped out to a 14-0 lead to start the game and never looked back, taking a 32-15 lead at halftime.
Jeff Terpstra led the Knights (3-8) with 11 points.
Munster 126, Merrillville 49: The Times No. 2 Seahorses dominated the meet, as Mary Beth Blocher led the way with a win in the 200 IM (2 minutes, 22.14 seconds). Megan Wimmer took part in the winning 200 medley relay (1:57.58) and also won the 50 free in 25.71. Teammate Ashley Hwang won the 500 free in 5:36.95.
Munster 137, Merrillville 48: The Times No. 2 Seahorses won all three relays behind the efforts of Logan Armagast, Jack Wulf, Jeremy Gonzalez and Nick Lundin.
Alec Thompson was a double winner for the Seahorses, taking the 200 free (2:03.57) and 500 free (5:30.50).
Damian DiGangi captured the 50 free (23.72), while Dwayne Fitzpatrick won diving (186.20) for the Pirates.
