North Newton 5, Bishop Noll 0: Times No. 10 North Newton pitcher Allyson Leach shut down the Warriors with a complete-game five-hitter in Greater South Shore Conference action. Haley Ross and Jena Leach each drove in two runs for the Spartans.
Elena Sobilo went 2-for-3 for Bishop Noll.
Valparaiso 5 , Michigan City 2: Abbey Thomas was 2-for-3 with a home run to lead the Vikings over the Wolves in Duneland Athletic Conference play. Kennedy Minko added a double and two RBIs. Megan Krantz went the distance with seven strikeouts.
Aubria Smith was 3-for-4 for Michigan City.
LaPorte 18, Merrillville 0: The Slicers' Bailey Rogers went 5-for-5 with four runs scored, and Emma Dickson was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored to gain the DAC win.
Lake Station 21, Calumet 0: The Times No. 7 Eagles got a big day from Karigan Schiller, who was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and scored three runs. Teammate Jewel Paris went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and four runs scored. Shelby Jorgensen had three hits and three RBIs in the GSSC win.
Highland 10, Merrillville 9: Nick Jancich went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs to help lead the Trojans (3-3) to the win.
Joey Cowser had a strong day at the plate for Merrillville (2-2), going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBIs and three runs scored.
Wheeler 3, Morton 2: The Bearcats (2-0) swept doubles to edge the Governors (0-1). Lauren Johnson and Milena Raketic (No. 1 doubles), and Cecily Dronebarger and Hanah Wozniak (No. 2) each won in straight sets.
Morton's Nancy Martinez (No. 1 singles) and Li Li Robinson (No. 3) each won in three sets.
Kouts 85, North Judson 71, Knox 53, North White 35: Cody Nelson won the 110- and 300-meter hurdles, while teammate Mike Ferrell won the 1,600 and 3,200 to help the Mustangs win the quadrangular.
