Times No. 4 Munster nailed 10 3-pointers and ran away from Northwest Crossroads Conference rival Highland 81-43 in boys basketball play Thursday night.
Adam Ostoich and Kevin Schlotman each scored 14 for the Mustangs (10-3, 2-0), who have never lost in NCC play. Drew Hackett chipped in 11, and Nikola Mandic scored 10 in the win.
Highland (4-10, 0-3) was led by Ben Wood's 21 points and 14 rebounds.
E.C. Central 60, Hanover Central 44: The host Cardinals got a big lift in the return of Tiajaney Hawkins, who had missed much of the season with an injury. Hawkins scored 18 points to lead the Cards (3-12). Cheyenne White scored 17 for the team in white.
The Wildcats (6-8) were led by Kristen Roper's 18. Brooke Sterkowitz added eight in the loss.
Lew Wallace 46, Gary Lighthouse 32: Ayana Hunter's 21 points paced the Hornets to the win. Breona Haynes added nine for the Hornets, and Ashanti Mays and Brittany Dodson each scored eight.
Kennesha Trambles led Lighthouse with 10.
Andrean 69, Calumet 26: Haley Hrosik scored 25 points in leading the 59ers (5-11) to the victory. Brenna Boyle added 10 in the win against the Warriors (2-11). The victory broke an eight-game losing streak for the 'Niners.
Highland 44, Morton 31: Alyssa Kikalos scored 13 points to lead the Trojans (11-5) to the win. Taylor Steele added 10 points.
Morton was led by Tatyana Skinner's 10 points.
Hebron 55, River Forest 42: The Hawks (5-8) got 16 points from Katie Clemens to pick up the victory.
River Forest was led by freshman Kelly Easton's 13 points.
Winamac 53, Kouts 49: Jayla Crump had team highs of 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals, but Winamac defeated Kouts. Megan Heinold added 15 points for the Fillies (8-5), while Bella Wireman scored 11.
Merrillville 106.25, Hobart 88, Lowell 74.4: Kristina Goodman's all-around score of 36.1 paced the Pirates to the win.
Goodman scored 9.2 on both beam and floor, winning both events. Heather Osorio won bars (9.2) and vault (9.3) for Merrillville.
Kankakee Valley 120, Griffith 51: Jordan Rhoades won the 100 back (1 minute, 11.02 seconds) and swam legs on the winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relay to lead the Kougars to the win.
Chyna Rex took the 200 free (2:21.46) for the Panthers.
Kankakee Valley 113, Griffith 16: Matt Misner's win in the 200 IM (2:41.49) helped the Kougars defeat the Panthers.
Misner also won the 100 back (1:15.45) and helped K.V. take the 200 medley relay (2:14.65).
