The start of Saturday's E.C. Central Wrestling Semistate has been pushed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in anticipation of weather-related travel issues.

Thursday's Clark-Highland boys basketball game was postponed with no makeup date set, likewise Friday's Hobart-Andrean game.

South Central's Friday game with Washington Township has been moved to Feb. 20.


Chesterton 111.95, Merrillville 109.1: Freshman Mia Pak won all-around (37.45) and bars (9.65), leading the Trojans over the Pirates in Duneland Athletic Conference action.

Teammate Jordan Bush won vault (9.7) and floor (9.45), while Sophie Hunzelman won beam (9.6).

Merrillville's Brianna Thomas was second in all-around (36.6), bars (9.1) and beam (9.55)

Boys basketball

Marquette Catholic 80, Bishop Noll 57:  Colin Kenney and Buddy Jaffee, who had six 3-pointers, shared game-high honors with 22 points each in the win over the Warriors (10-10).

Chandler Goodwin also finished in double figures with 10 points for the Blazers (8-13).

Merrillville 66, LaPorte 55: Garrott Ott Large had 15 points, but the Slicers fell to the Pirates in DAC play.

Matt Lottich to speak at Calumet Sportsmanship Dinner: Valparaiso University men's basketball coach Matt Lottich will be the keynote speaker at the 64th annual Sportsmanship Dinner.

The dinner, slated for 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19, will be held at the Halls of St. George in Schererville and will bring together the boys basketball players at the schools participating in five of the Region's sectionals.
