THURSDAY'S ROUNDUP: Coleman sparks Morgan girls past River Forest
Trina Coleman notched 18 points and came up with seven steals to spark Morgan Township to a 51-21 girls basketball victory at River Forest on Thursday.
Kayla Smith's 12 points topped the Ingots, who were outscored 16-0 in the second quarter.
Hogg signs with Oakland City: Boone Grove senior Julie Hogg recently signed with Oakland City University. The 5-foot-11 forward is averaging 12 points through three games this season for the Wolves, including a season-high 20 in Tuesday's win over River Forest.
Girls Swimming
Portage 138, Hobart 44: Tayler Bayer (50 free, 100 free) and Sierra King (100 fly, 200 IM) were double winners in the Indians' victory. Bayer also led off the 200 medley and 400 relays that were fastest to the wall. Kaylee Gubricky (100 breast) registered the sole first for Hobart.
Valparaiso 107, Highland 38: Allie Lamberson (50 free, 100 free) and Kaitlyn Steffus (100 fly, 400 free) each won two events as the host Vikings defeated the Trojans.
Marie Stockton picked up Highland's lone win in the 100 breast.

Rasmussen honored: Former Valparaiso High School Athletic Director Sam Rasmussen is among 10 individuals who will receive the 2011 National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Distinguished Service Award.
The honor is presented annually to NIAAA members in recognition of their length of service, special accomplishments and contributions to interscholastic athletics at the local, state and national levels.
They will be recognized Dec. 13 in Indianapolis during a banquet at the 42nd annual National Athletic Directors Conference, conducted jointly by the National Federation of State High School Associations and the NIAAA.
