Bloom Township outscored Thornwood 6-2 in the third overtime for a 72-68 nonconference girls basketball win Tuesday.
Bria Gaines had 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Blazing Trojans (6-6). Katherine Strong just missed a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. She also had six steals.
Breanna Perry had 16 points and eight rebounds.
T.F. South 51, Shepard 37: A strong second half helped the Rebels to a South Suburban win over the Astros.
The Rebels (6-4, 5-0 SSC Blue) led 17-14 at halftime and outscored Shepard 34-23 in the second half.
Ashley Bryant had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Ninah Bertrand had 10 points, six steals and three assists while Kaitlin Togtman had 11 points.
Beecher 40, Reed-Custer 25: Ashley Carroll had her second-straight double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead the No. 3 Ladycats (12-5, 5-1) to the River Valley Conference win.
Amari Griffin had 13 points and 13 rebounds to go with seven steals. Danielle Snuckel had eight points and two assists.
Crete-Monee 48, Thornton 44: Angelik Young's 11 points and nine rebounds led the Warriors to the road win over the Wildcats (3-6).
Naomi Fuller led Thornton with 13 points, while Georgetta Reid had 10 points and eight rebounds. Jaccarra Reeves had 11 points.
Wilmington 33, Illinois Lutheran 32: The Chargers were outscored 11-6 in the final period in the home loss.
Caroline Kuether led Illinois Lutheran with 16 points.
Boys Basketball
Providence 64, Marian Catholic 62: The Spartans (5-3) rallied from a double-digit deficit but fell to the Celtics (7-2) in a nonconference game at Casey Court.
The loss snapped Marian Catholic's three-game winning streak.
Tyler Ulis led Marian with a game-high 22 points, eight assists and four rebounds, while Christian Halley had 17 points and four rebounds. Josh Cohn finished with nine points and four rebounds, while Ki-Jana Crawford came away with five steals.
Rich Central 78, Mount Carmel 69: Alex Austin's 28 points paced the Caravan (2-7) in the home loss to the Olympians.
Christian Searles had 15 points, while Devante Charles added 13 points.
Mount Carmel led 22-13 after one quarter and 35-32 at halftime. Rich Central outscored the Caravan 46-34 in the second half.
Glenbard South 65, Illiana Christian 55: The Vikings (4-5, 0-4) lost their fifth-straight with their defeat in the Metro Suburban Conference contest.
