Bria Gaines' 12 points and 22 rebounds led the Bloom Township girls basketball team to a 50-24 win over Sandburg on Tuesday in one semifinal of the Class 4A Lincoln-Way East Regional.
Danielle King led the Blazing Trojans in scoring with 20 points. Bloom will face Lincoln-Way East at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for the championship.
Class 4A Andrew Regional: Ashton Millender had 13 points, while Jerrell Matthews and Kauai Bradley scored 12 points each to lead Marian Catholic to an 84-23 win over T.F. North in one semifinal.
Marian is 27-1 and has won 14 in a row. It will face Andrew at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for the championship.
Boys Basketball
Bloom Township 46, Thornton 33: Jataryn Dejareaux had a big double-double of 12 points and a whopping 20 rebounds to help lead the Blazing Trojans to a win over Thornton.
Johnny Griffin led Bloom (21-3) with 15 points.
Thornton's Justin Taylor led the Wildcats with nine points.
Illiana Christian 52, Fenton 37: Brandon Martin scored 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Vikings to the Metro Suburban Conference win.
Caleb Jonkman added 13 points and seven rebounds for Illiana (18-9, 8-4), while Elijah Lares chipped in 12 points.
Lemont 72, T.F. South 55: Kenny Doss' 28 points led the Rebels (10-12, 6-5) in their South Suburban Blue loss to the Indians.
Gabe Stinson had three steals and three assists.
Boys track
Homewood-Flossmoor 152.5, Eisenhower 54, Richards 37.5: The host Vikings easily held off their competition, using both their skill and immense depth to cruise to the win.
In many events, the Vikings swept the scoring, including a 1-2-3 finish in the 55-meter hurdles. Danny Sims won that event in 8.31 seconds.
