River Forest's J.J. Pennington scored a game-high 22 points, but it wasn't enough as Gavit's scoring balance led the Gladiators to a 64-53 win Tuesday.
Xavier Copeland led a trio of Gladiators in double figures with 14 points. Backing him up were Shalon Bell, who scored 13 points, and Kyle Landers, who chipped in 11.
The Gladiators (9-9) won the game at the free-throw line, finishing with a 21-of-29 clip.
Malachi Sala added 10 points for River Forest (7-10).
Hobart 61, Calumet 39: Elijah Walker scored a game-high 21 points to give the Brickies the win. C.J. Komosa added 18 points for the Brickies (4-13), who were losing 21-20 at halftime before outscoring Calumet (5-13) 21-8 in the third quarter.
Calumet's Joshua Borst scored 14 points.
Argos 40, South Central 32: The Dragons (5-13) handed the Satellites (2-14) their ninth consecutive loss. Mark Richards and Brett Walters each scored eight points for S.C.
North Judson 68, LaCrosse 56: Riley Charlesworth had a team-high 17 points, but the Tigers (3-13) fell to the Bluejays (5-12). Bryce Guse added 16 points, while Bobby Claypool had 12.
Girls basketball
Calumet Christian 45, Victory Christian 38: Kayle and Cassie Obinger each scored 16 points to lead the Patriots over the Lions (13-11).
Kaila Walker had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds for Victory Christian.

Valparaiso Regional tickets on sale at Lake Central: Tickets for Saturday's Valparaiso girls basketball regional games are on sale from 8 a.m to 12:30 p.m. today and Friday at Lake Central High School.
Cost is $10 for all games. Ticket buyers should enter the high school through Door A.
Lake Central and Merrillville will play at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, and Penn will play Warsaw at approximately 11 a.m. The championship game is set for 7:30 p.m.
