Morgan Rinkema scored a game-high 17 points Tuesday, leading Highland to a 49-28 girls basketball win over Hanover Central.

Michaela Schmidt added 13 for the Trojans.

Amanda Schreiber led the Wildcats with eight points.

Crown Point 58, Andrean 32: Mya Scheidt's 16 points and Crown Point's 21-point third quarter helped the Bulldogs to the nonconference win.

Ellie VanDeel added 10 for C.P. (2-0).

Karli Miller scored 15 to lead Andrean (0-3), which went 13-of-24 from the free-throw line.

Kouts 39, North Newton 25: Sadie Leatherman had team highs of 19 points and four steals to lead the Fillies (2-2) over the Spartans (1-3).

Morgan Kobza added seven points, 16 rebounds and four assists.

South Newton 47, Covenant Christian 27: Knights senior Maria Nanninga scored her 1,000th career point in the loss. Nanninga finished with 15 points.

LaVille 61, Washington Township 25: Syd Yagelski had a team-high six points, but the Senators lost to the Lancers.

Girls swimming

Highland 116, Griffith 43: Raquel Divilia (100 freestyle, 200 free) and Morgan Rose (50 free, 500 free) each won two individual events as the Trojans routed the Panthers.

Divilia and Rose also swam legs on the victorious 200 medley and 400 free relays.

LaPorte 112, Wheeler 70; LaPorte 141, South Central 9; Wheeler 131, South Central 10: Abigail Roberts (50 free, 100 free) won two individual events to lead the Slicers to victories in the triple dual.

Laura Wong (200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke) won two events for the Bearcats.

Prep football

Class 4A semistate tickets on sale: Tickets for Friday's semistate game can be purchased from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today and Thursday at Lowell. Tickets can also be purchased from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday and Friday at the Spirit Shack, which is located at Door 13.

All tickets are $10.

Wolves prepare for 5A semistate: Michigan City will offer two fan buses to Friday's semistate football game at Kokomo.

There will be a bus for students and a bus for adults and staff. The cost will be $12, which covers the game ticket ($10) and bus ride ($2). Members of the staff receive a $2 discount and will pay $10.

The buses will leave from the front of the high school at 4 p.m. Friday and will return directly after the game.

Tickets and sign-ups for both buses will be available in the athletic office all week, ending at 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Boys basketball

Westville intrasquad game Friday: Westville will hold an intrasquad game at 5 p.m. Friday. The junior varsity will scrimmage in the first half, followed by the varsity in the second half. Dunk and 3-point contests will be held at halftime. Tickets are $2.
