Lowell rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to top Boone Grove, 45-42, in girls basketball action Tuesday.
Katie Bobos scored 12 of her 16 points in a pivotal third quarter during which the Red Devils (14-3) outscored the Wolves 19-9. Bobos also hauled in eight rebounds.
Paige Aguilera posted 14 points, six rebounds and three steals for Boone (13-6).
Highland 37, Wheeler 23: Brianna Williams led the host Trojans with 11 points, and teammate Alyssa Kikalos added nine, but defense is what won the game for Highland (6-11). The Trojans held the Bearcats (9-11) to 21 percent shooting as Wheeler was 11-of-52 from the field.
Nickole Finch led the Bearcats with a game-high 17 points.
West Side 78, Roosevelt 43: The Times No. 4 Cougars (15-3, 1-0) got the home Northwestern Conference win as Ashley Danzy nailed four 3-pointers for 12 points to lead the way. Amari Ferguson dished out 13 assists in the win.
The Panthers (1-7, 0-1) were led by Chantele McDonald's game-high 16 points.
Faith Christian 61, Covenant Christian 44: The visiting Eagles (9-8) got 16 points from Lacy Deitrick to get past the Knights (8-11).
Jennifer Heerema led the hosts with 13 points, and teammate Rachel Schurman added 11. Calli Beezhold scored eight and had four blocks, taking her state-leading total up to 127.
Morgan Township 67, Gary 21st Century 19: Lauren Bobinski's 15 points paced the Cherokees (10-9) in a one-sided victory. Courtney Osby (four assists) added 11 points for Morgan. Morgan Lippens came up with five steals for the Cherokees.
Boys Basketball
Morton 57, Highland 43: Rayan Elabed led the Governors (5-8) with 18 points, while Carl Murry added 13 points in the win. Devon Mingo scored 11 points and led Morton with six assists.
Nick Elish topped Highland (4-11) with 12 points.
Boys Swimming
Chesterton 147, Merrillville 39: The Trojans won every event to cruise to a Duneland Athletic Conference win.
Portage 108, Lake Central 78: Alex Schreier won the 100 fly (54.85) and also helped Portage win the 200 medley relay (1:45.32) and 400 free relay (3:27.09).
Josh Barajas won the 200 IM (2:03.46) for Lake Central and swam a leg in the winning 200 free relay (1:36.18).
