Malik Miller scored a game-high 19 points Tuesday, leading Hammond to a 59-50 road boys basketball victory against Highland.

Immanuel Anderson had a double-double for the Wildcats (2-1) with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Allex Pulleyblank knocked down four 3-pointers and had 14 points for the Trojans (3-1).

Girls basketball

Kankakee Valley 79, Hanover Central 32: Catherine Cavinder scored 17 points led the Times No. 5 Kougars in a blowout win. Lindsey Stokes (15), Aubrey Toppen (15) and Maddie Swart (13) were also in double figures for Kankakee Valley (9-1).

Westville 56, Kouts 33: Morgan Shreves had 18 points and six rebounds in a Porter County Conference win for the Blackhawks (6-3, 1-1). Sarah Weston added 12 points and dished out eight assists. Nicole Albers had 10 points.

Morgan Kobza led the Fillies (4-6, 1-2) with 10 points.

River Forest 64, Roosevelt 21: Marissa Mays totaled 18 points as River Forest recorded their first win of the season in a rout. Avery Vanderberg (12) and Fabiola Cervantes (11) were also in double figures for the Ingots (1-6).

Portage selling tickets for "Hoosiers" game: Tickets for Portage's Dec. 16 game against Munster at the historic "Hoosiers" gym in Knightstown are on sale in the high school bookstore during the school day until Dec. 14. Boys swimming

Chesterton 146, Michigan City 39: Andrew Alders won the 100 back and the 200 free, also swimming legs of the 200 and 400 free relays, in pacing the Trojans in a Duneland Conference win. Ethan Wing also won two events (50 and 500 free) and added a win on the 200 medley relay.

Highland 120, Kankakee Valley 59: Felipe Arbelez won the 100 back and 500 free to lead the Trojans over the Kougars. Scott Stange won the 200 free for Highland and was on the winning 200 and 400 free relay teams.

LaPorte 115, Portage 67: Isaac Temores won the 200 IM and 100 breast for the Slicers in a DAC triumph. Justin Dusza (100 back, 100 fly) and Jacob Cooper (50, 100 free) also were multiple winners for LaPorte.

Girls swimming

Chesterton 150, Michigan City 33: Jaclyn Klimczak notched wins in the 100 fly and 200 free and was a part of the first-place 200 and 400 free relays for the victorious Trojans. Lauryn Kallay won the 200 IM for Chesterton and was on the winning 200 medley and free relays.

Highland 98, Kankakee Valley 76: Rachel Stange won the 50 and 100 free and also swam legs on the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays in a Northwest Crossroads Conference win for the Trojans. Emily Marvel won the 100 back and 200 IM for Highland.

Portage 115, LaPorte 71: Abigail Roberts won the 50 and 100 free for the Slicers and was on the first-place 200 free relay team. Alicia Wireman added a first in the 100 fly for LaPorte.
