Valparaiso girls basketball coach Candy Wilson earned her 300th victory as a head coach with the Vikings' 67-33 win over Calumet on Tuesday.
Ari Gerdt scored 15 points and Maddie Molnar poured in 10 for the Vikings in the nonconference matchup. Thirteen Valpo players scored in the pre-sectional tuneup as the Vikes took a 44-16 lead at halftime.
Jai Reed led Calumet with 10 points.
Wilson is in her 20th year coaching and her fourth at Valparaiso. She previously won four sectional titles and a regional championship at Boone Grove.
Wheeler 32, Hobart 31: The Bearcats rallied from a four-point third quarter to beat the Brickies in a nonconference matchup.
Sydney Eden led Wheeler with 15 ponts and Aaliyah Williams added 12.
Samantha Vode's 10 paced Hobart.
Washington Twp. 55, Calumet Christian 33: Sydney Yagelski scored 15 points, in part from her 7-of-10 night from the free-throw line, to pace the Senators. Mikaela Armstrong added 10 points for Washington Township.
Crete-Monee 67, Marquette Catholic 66: Colin Kenney scored 31 points for the Blazers (5-12) in the loss.
Valparaiso 112.1, Lake Central 103.35: Rachel Moneta, Megan Wagenblast and Lizzy Wilson lead Valpo to the Duneland Athletic Conference victory.

Calling all former Vikings: Valparaiso High School will host its inaugural Alumni Night on Saturday. The Vikings play Munster, with the JV game at 5:30 and the varsity game at approximately 7.
M.C. invite Saturday: Michigan City will host the Lighthouse Winter Invitational with three interstate games on Saturday. Fort Wayne Wayne faces Rich East (Ill.) at 4 p.m., followed by Lighthouse vs. Huron (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Michigan City against Dream Academy (Benton Harbor, Mich.). Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
Andrean hall induction Feb. 18: Andrean will host its 15th sports hall of fame induction Feb. 18. Honorees are Tim Schafer (1969), Ray Dorulla (1974), George McGuan (1999), Chris Skinner (2006), Kyle Kovach (2009), Adam Norton (2009), volleyball coach Sally Malinich and the 2009 state runner-up football team.
