As snow continued to wreak havoc on the region, it also put a crimp in prep schedules around the state.

The Chesterton and Crown Point girls swimming sectional preliminaries were moved from Thursday to today, with action getting under way at 5:30 p.m.

The Portage at Lake Central girls basketball game was rescheduled from Thursday to 6 tonight to be played before the regularly-scheduled start of the boys game.

Merrillville will host Crown Point in girls basketball at 5:30 p.m. today, also in a girls-boys doubleheader. The varsity game will proceed the boys varsity game and both JV games have been cancelled.

Tickets for Saturday's Munster-Merrillville boys basketball game will be on sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the athletic office despite all classes being cancelled.

The Crown Point gymnastics meet at LaPorte has also been postponed. No makeup date has been set.

Girls basketball games postponed include Griffith at Calumet and the Hobart against Gavit game was moved to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at Hobart.

In Illinois, the T.F. North at Lemont girls basketball game is postponed until Monday. The T.F. South at Oak Forest and Rich South at Bloom Twp. girls basketball games are postponed until Tuesday. All Crete-Monee events from Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are postponed with makeup dates yet to be announced.

On Friday, Munster's boys basketball game at Griffith has been postponed as part of Griffith's postponement of all athletic events that day.
