Eight local basketball players will take part in the POSTYOURT Indiana vs. Ohio all-star games Saturday in Portland.
Seven games will take place between the states at East Jay Middle School.
Boone Grove's Claudia Cooper will be a member of White 2, which will play at 8:30 a.m. Portage's Alexis Johnson and Kaitlin Doud will be on White 3, and their game will be at 10. LaRoi Harmon and Bernateau Jean Michal of Clark, Michigan City's Lucas Daurer and LaPorte's Josh Fleming will play for White 4, which is scheduled for 11:30. Boone Grove's Dean Hill will be a member of White 7, slated to play at 1:30 p.m.

Washington Township 17, Lake Station 3: Tyler Byerly was 4-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored as the Senators won their season opener against the Eagles in five innings. Bobby Ross was 2-for-4 with a double and four runs scored.
Matt Forsythe had two RBIs for Lake Station.
Morton 8, E.C. Central 3: Tim Skalba was 3-for-3 with three RBIs as the Governors defeated the Cardinals in the season opener for both schools. Sam Miller was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while teammate Cody Earl was 2-for-3 with three runs scored.
Lake Station 17, Marquette 1: The Eagles put up a seven-run third inning in a Greater South Shore Conference rout.
Caitlin Acker led Lake Station with four RBIs. Ashlin Jorgensen scored four runs, and Jewel Paris had three RBIs and three runs scored.
