For the first time, Hoosier Fight Club will have a title on the line when it returns tonight.

The promotion, which puts on HFC 19 at the Porter County Expo Center in Valparaiso, will crown its first women's amateur atomweight champion when Anne Malinoff (2-1) takes on Michigan-based Elane Santiago.

Malinoff has won back-to-back fights for HFC in a combined 1:36. The Team Colon product choked out Sheena Brandenburg at HFC 17 and stopped Summer Asbury in just 30 seconds at UFC 16.

The Feb. 8 card also features a main event lightweight fight between Austin Tweedy (3-0) and Tom Shoaff (2-0). The co-feature pits UFC veteran Shamar Bailey (15-9), of Indianapolis, against onetime "Ultimate Fighter" hopeful Kevin Nowacyzk (13-3) in a fight a source close to the promotion told The Times is being looked at by the UFC.

Bellator 112 features region MMA vets

Once again, a Bellator MMA card in Hammond means more high-level opportunities for local fighters, all of whom have fought under the Hoosier Fight Club banner.

Bellator 112, set for March 14 at The Venue at Horseshoe Casino, will feature six HFC vets on the preliminary card, which will stream at Spike.com ahead of the main card on Spike TV.

Strikeforce veteran Nathan Coy (13-4), who beat Kevin Nowaczyk at HFC 14, meets UFC and Strikeforce vet Paul Bradley (21-4). Belal Muhammad (3-0), 2-0 under the HFC banner, takes on A.J. Matthews (6-2). Rob Menigoz (6-1), 2-0 for HFC, fights Diego Marlon (24-8). Lance Surma (2-0) has both of his wins for HFC and takes on Legacy Fighting Championship vet Darrion Caldwell (3-0).

HFC vet Bobby Reardanz looks for his first Bellator win after two losses for the promotion in 2012 when he meets Derek Loffer (6-2). Former Torres Martial Arts product Anthony Gomez (7-2) will look for his third straight Bellator win against Jason Guida (19-27), brother of UFC vet Clay Guida.

Torres returns to Hammond Civic Center

For the first time in more than seven years, former WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres will fight at the Hammond Civic Center.

Torres (40-7) will headline the United Combat League card "Havoc in Hammond" on Feb. 15 against Shawn West (5-5). UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman is expected to be a special guest at the show. Tickets ($20-45) are available at 773-491-5052 or at uclmma.com.
