Struebig resilient at AMA Florida Winter Amateur Series
Crown Point 22-year-old motocross racer Josh Struebig had an impressive showing in Round Three of the 2012 American Motorcycle Association Florida Amateur Series held Jan. 14-15 at Reddick Race Track in Ocala, Fla.
Competing in the 450 B Class, Struebig took second amid a field of 28 racers in his first moto behind emerging international star Anthony Rodreguiez of Venezuela. In his second moto, Struebig crashed while flipping over his handlebars, yet managed to get back into the race to finish fourth.
Struebig will compete in the final round of the series this weekend at Gatorback Cycle Park in Alachua, Fla., before training with renowned former racer and "track turn" instructor Ronnie Tishenor in Tampa Bay, and then heading back to the Georgia Practice Facility in Cairo, Ga., for more motocross, supercross (indoor) and arenacross (indoor) training.
Struebig is preparing for a pair of national races this spring at Oak Hill Raceway in Decatur, Tex., and Mill Creek Raceway in Birmingham, Ala.
