HAMMOND | Randall Perrin struck out a career-high 14 hitters, and Isaac Rosa started the game with a lead-off homer -- what has become a common occurrence at the WS -- to pace the Hammond Optimist Bulldogs past the formerly undefeated Kingsbridge, NY Knights.

Perrin yielded only one hit and one walk while going the distance for the shutout. Perrin also doubled and singled.

Rosa singled for another hit, and Liam Ochi had two hits for the Bulldogs, who will take Sunday off before facing Opp, Ala. at 8 p.m. Monday.

Gabriel Zambrana had the lone hit for the Knights, who were able to contain numerous rally threats from the Bulldogs with stellar defensive plays by catcher Jemal Betances and second baseman Sammy De La Cruz.

The Knights will face Grand Forks, N.D. at 8 p.m. today
