HAMMOND | Jared Gadd got South Lexington, Ken. off to an ideal start when he led-off the game with a solo shot to right-center against El Dorado, Ark. in the second round of pool play Saturday.

And that was just the beginning.

Gadd would later hit another dinger ... about in the same spot ... and Brendan Hord also homered for South Lexington, which for the second straight game made slaughter-shortened work of its opponent. They had beaten Quincy, Mass. 11-1 on Friday.

Jacob Boshears homered for El Dorado, which fell to 0-2 in pool play.

South Lexington will try to stay hot for today's 3 p.m. game against the Honolulu Saints. El Dorado will play Northern Indiana champion Crown Point 5:30 p.m. today.
