HAMMOND | Kingsbridge Knights starter Jemal Betances was a model of efficiency, striking out seven while going the six-inning distance with a pitch count of 72 in leading the Knights from the Bronx, NY past Opp, Ala.

Betances also had pair of hits, and Haroly Abreu rapped two singles for the Knights, who will play host to the Hammond Optimist Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. today.

Kingsbridge also got a lift from shortstop Erubiel Candelario, who made numerous defensive gems to help keep his team in control of the game.

Ethan Baker doubled in the only run for Opp, who will try to rebound against East Boise, Ida. at 12:30 p.m. Sunday after an off day on Saturday.
