HAMMOND | Makana Murashinge clubbed a grand slam in the fifth inning to enable the Honolulu Saints to blow the game open during their 8-1 win over El Dorado, Ark. in the opening game of the Cal Ripken Major/60 World Series.

Dante Park also homered and Aaron Tom had a pair of doubles and two RBIs for the Saints, who will have Saturday off before playing South Lexington, Ken. at 3 p.m. Sunday.

El Dorado's next game is also against South Lexington, scheduled for 10 a.m. today.

Saints starter Caleb Markwith struck out six in three innings, and doubled in the first two runs of the game in the third inning.

Grant Griffis doubled for El Dorado's lone  extra-base hit.
