The Crete Bulldogs youth football program took two out of the three scored games against the MidCrest Panthers on Sept. 21.

In the Varsity game, Trent Lotton hit Donald Smith for a scoring screen pass in the fourth quarter for the difference in a 18-12 victory. Smith and Maisyn Stout Dukes earlier scored touchdowns, giving the team a 12-0 lead before the Panthers responded to tie the game.

In the Pee Wee game, the Bulldogs rolled in a 21-0 win. Ray Arabelo scored two touchdowns. Brady Schmoyer kicked the first PAT in Pee Wee Bulldogs history with help from long snapper Angel Alverio and holder Zac Milsap.

In the Junior Varsity game, Deonte Carroll's three rushing TDs and another TD from Deandre Heavens wasn't enough for the Bulldogs to hold off a late surge from the Panthers, who won a 26-25 thriller.

In the Super Widget and Widget contests, Crete's offense and defense were effective in both games.
