Creekside Classic July 21

VALPARAISO | The 10th annual Creekside Classic for Kids will take place at 1 p.m. July 21. The event is a 12-hole scramble for foursomes of two adults and two junior golfers. A morning skills competition will run from 10 a.m. to noon. It's open to children ages 12 and under. The fee for juniors is $30 for one event, $50 for both. The cost for adults is $75. H-F outing July 22

The Homewood-Flossmoor football program will have its second annual alumni golf outing at 10:30 a.m. July 22 at Coyote Run. The scramble format will have a shotgun start. A junior golf summer camp for children ages 7 and older will run July 25 to 29 at Robbinhurst Golf Club. Creekside offers junior and adult programs

VALPARAISO | Creekside Golf and Training Center will offer junior and adult golf programs in July.

The Lil' Tigers class is for children as young as 3 years old. Classes will take place from 1 to 1:45 p.m. every Saturday. The cost is $15. Linkster classes for those ages 6 to 8 will run from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $15. Target classes for ages 9 to 11 will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $30.

The Ladies Monday Morning Clinic will run from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday (woods: tee and fairway) and July 25 (power leaks in the swing).

DK Classic set for Sept. 11

VALPARAISO | The DK Classic golf outing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at Forest Park Golf Course. The event is a fundraiser for former Valpo athlete Darren Kahl, who suffered a spinal injury in 2008. Proceeds are used for rehabilitation expenses as well as supplies and adaptive equipment that help Kahl perform activities of daily living. Cost is $70 per golfer, which includes golf, cart, drinks and food. A silent auction with music and drinks will take place throughout the day in the clubhouse.
